Obituary



HOLLYWOOD, FL - Vanghel P. Tanca, 86, formerly of North Grosvenordale, CT, died Friday, September 17, in Memorial Pembroke Hospital, Pembroke Pines, FL.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Virginia D. (Downs) Tanca; a son, Wayne D. Tanca; a daughter, Lynn S. Tesauro and her husband William L., all of Hollywood; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Tanca and Lyda Tesauro; a brother, Christopher “Chris” Tanca of Dudley, MA; a sister, Ernestine Rucho of Matthew, North Carolina; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles, John and Stanley Tanca and by 2 sisters, Victoria Marcoux and Elizabeth Mitro.

He was born and raised in North Grosvenordale, CT, a son of Leo and Sophie (Custica) Tanca. He lived in Webster before moving to Florida in the 1960's. He was a graduate of Thompson Trade School and of Northeastern University in Boston.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Tanca was a pharmacist at Aventura Hospital in Avenruta, FL for many years.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 25, in West Thompson Cemetery, Route 12, West Thompson, CT. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, September 24, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, MA.
