Richard J. Gagnon, 85 years old, husband of the late Irene (Oczkowski) Gagnon who died in February of 2009, died Monday Sept.13 at his home following a long illness.
Born in Frenchville, Maine on October 9, 1924, he was a son of the late George A. and Rose (Bouchard) Gagnon and received his education in the Maine schools. Mr. Gagnon was a graduate of Bentley College with a degree in Business Administration.
He was a World War II Veteran and served in the United States Navy. For over forty years, Mr. Gagnon worked in Program Management within the Aerospace and Defense Industry, retiring in 1989 from Sanders Associates, Inc. in Nashua, a division of Lockheed now BAE Systems. Mr. Gagnon was an avid golfer and was a member of Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended the Immaculate Conception Church.
He is survived by a son; Richard J. Gagnon Jr. of Santa Monica, CA; two daughters, Donna L. Gagnon of Lowell and Cheryl A. White and her husband John D. of Lowell; a brother, Retired Air Force Colonel Lawrence Gagnon of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Marie Cushman of Colorado Springs, CO. and several nieces and nephews.
