Obituary

HOLLISTON/COCHITUATE: Bernice R. (Peters) Fisher, 91, died peacefully in the comfort of her family on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Cullivers Cove, Rossway, Nova Scotia, Canada on May 29, 1919 the daughter of the late Gardner R. Peters and Bertha A. (Sabean) Peters,
Mrs. Fisher is survived by her three sons, Francis K. Fisher, Jr. and his wife Yvonne of Ossipee, NH; Kenneth G. Fisher and his wife Debra E. of Holliston and Gary E. Fisher and his wife Linda M. of Cochituate. She was the grandmother of John and his wife Sonia, Michael and his wife Darcie, David and his wife Crystal, Frances Tuck and her husband Joshua, Kenneth, Jr., Krystal, Ashley and Chelsea and great-grandmother of Morgan, John Jr., Tina, Jillian, Carly and Stone. She is also survived by her sister Lillian I. Hall of Uxbridge and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Francis L. Fisher who died in November 2003 and sister of the late Loran G. Peters who died in April of 1966.
Bernice spent her formative years in Digby, Canada and at the age of 16 moved to Cochituate with her family. She resided in Cochituate for over 30 years where she raised her three boys. She and her husband retired to Zephyr Hills, Florida and loved there for 25 years before moving to Holliston to be closer to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For many years, she was associated with Farmer Electronics and Micro Switch in Natick. She retired after 25 years of dedicated service as a Supervisor for Honeywell in Marlborough. In her early years while residing in Cochituate, she was associated with Community United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, playing golf and bingo. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed be them and all who knew Bernice.
Visitations will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (Off Rte 30), Cochituate.
Her funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm at the funeral home and interment will follow in the Fisher family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial gifts in Bernice’s memory may be sent to Vista Care Hospice, 6909 Canton St, # 220, Westwood, MA 02096.
