Mrs. Majorie Howell Wilson, 87, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Life Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Sunday, September 19, 2010, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Chip Woodruff officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilson was born May 30, 1923 in Fitzgerald to the late Joseph F. and Susie Mae Cooper Howell. She and her husband lived in Waycross for forty-two years before moving back to Fitzgerald. Mrs. Wilson was a former employee of the King Edward Cigar Factory in Waycross and a former employee of Fitzgerald Mills. She was a member of Hebardville Baptist Church in Waycross and an avid gardener.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: James F. “Frankie” & June Wilson of Tifton; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law: Nancy “Sis” & Jerry White of Fitzgerald and Katie “Shorty” Cone of Hobesound, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wilson, a son, L. Ed Wilson, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
