Marie B. O’Halloran, 86, of Mansfield formerly of West Roxbury and Mission Hill passed away on Friday September 17, 2010 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center in Norton.
Born in Boston, MA on November 1, 1923 she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph J. and Blandine M. (Desmarais) O’Halloran.
Marie grew up in the Mission Hill section of Boston and was educated in Boston public schools. She proudly worked in security at the Sears and Roebuck Co. in Brookline for 28 years before retiring in 1970.
A resident of Mansfield for over 25 years, she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield and enjoyed attending the annual Thanksgiving Day Celebration amongst many other activities at St. Mary’s Church. While living in West Roxbury she was a parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church and at the Mission Church when younger and residing in Mission Hill.
Marie’s family was the focal point of her life and each year they especially made sure her birthday was celebrated properly, where she was always the center of attention. She also loved playing bingo with her friends.
She was the dear sister of the late James F. O’Halloran, Louis R. O’Halloran and Gerard V. O’Halloran. Marie is survived by her sister in laws Barbara O’Halloran and Catherine O’Halloran and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday September 20th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass on Monday morning beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
In lieu of flower’s, Marie’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Patients Activity Fund at the Epoch Senior Healthcare 184 Mansfield Ave. Norton,. MA 02766.
