Obituary


Laconia-----Lawrence “Larry” F. Young, 78, of 70 Stark Street, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2010.
Mr. Young was born September 4, 1932 in Lancaster, NH, the son of Harold and Dora A. (Marden) Young. He lived in Laconia for most of his life and had been employed as a foreman for the Batchelder Tree Service and by the Lucas Tree Service.
Mr. Young served in the US Navy on the USS Melvin during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1670 and the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post #1. He also was a former member of the Belknap Sportsman Club.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Louise A. (Clough) Young, of Laconia; a stepson, Garey Hawkins, of Gilmanton; a stepdaughter, Linda Fitts, of Laconia; five grandchildren, Randy Fitts, Sherry Hawkins, Frank Hyslop, Melissa Bivens and Shawnn Vaillant; three great grandchildren, Jacobb Bivens, Nicole Fitts and Whitney Vaillant; a great great grandchild, Memphis Desbiens; a sister, Joyce Quinn, of Moultonboro and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Paul Young and by two sisters, JoAnn Fenmore and Patricia Morrissette.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Bayside Cemetery in Laconia.
