DUDLEY – Mildred M. “Mil” (Mancini) Grosse, 88, of Mill Street, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center.
She leaves her husband of 64 years, Joseph G. Grosse; a daughter, Barbara Sampson of Sandwich; 2 grandsons, David and Steven Sampson; 2 sisters, Barbara Schwabe of Webster and Dorothy Palicia of New Jersey; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and by 3 sisters.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of Pasquale and Ursula “Sadie” ((Dileo) Mancini. She lived on Staten Island before moving here in 1961. She graduated from Newdorp High School on Staten Island.
Along with her husband, she was a florist at the former Dudley Florist and Nursery. They then owned and operated the Schofield Avenue Package Store before retiring in 1984.
She attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster.
The funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 20, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, September 19, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
