Mary Sullivan, “lovey” to all and Matriarch and Grand Dame of The Corey Family of South Weymouth passed on to the next life peacefully on Monday evening, September 13, 2010 at Southwood at Norwell.
Born in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School. Mary graduated from Briggs and Stratton Business School. She worked at various secretarial jobs on the South Shore and Boston and met her husband, the late Edward J. Sullivan, while working for United Fruit/United Brands in Boston. She and her husband lived for many years in So Weymouth before moving to Rye, NY and Falmouth Port on Cape Cod. She lived in Duxbury in her later years. Mary and Ed travelled extensively for his work; all over the world, but she thought Bermuda was her favorite place. She volunteered at her church, Holy Nativity of South Weymouth, in the Altar Guild and sang in the choir. She loved life and lived to the fullest every day.
Survived by her sister, Dorothy Faulkner and family of Scituate, West Palm Beach and Prince Edward Island, Canada, Sister of the late Nellie Forte of Weymouth, Pauline Shaw of Falmouth and George Corey of Weymouth. Survived by two sisters-in-law, Velma Corey of Weymouth and Mary Sullivan of Brockton and Florida. Mary is survived by her nephews, Steven Corey and family of Weymouth, Paul Corey of Weymouth, Scott Faulkner of Virginia and Billy Shaw and family of Deltona Florida and her nieces Debbie DeMaria and family of Malden and Jaye White and family of Cincinnati Ohio.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Holy Nativity Church, 8 Nevin Rd, S. Weymouth on Friday September 17 at 11 A.M. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Friday at 1:15 P.M.
