Groton - Lorraine (Tourgee) Towner, 57, of 326 Ring Dr., passed away Sept. 11, 2010, at her home after an extended illness.
She was born March 23, 1953, in South Kingston, R.I., the daughter of the late Leonard and Eleanor (Bourrie) Tourgee.
She married Dwight Towner Sr. on Aug. 13, 1999, in Groton.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Janae Nicastro and Jessica Polizzi; stepson, Dwight Towner Jr.; brother, Joseph Tourgee; and by her grandchildren, Nikko, Sean, Giovanni, Gianna, and Nevaeh.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street in Historic downtown Mystic. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Dinoto Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Smith Lake Cemetery, Groton.
