Rebecca J. Tenney, 16, of Londonderry, NH died Sunday September 12, 2010 in the Children’s Hospital, Boston, MA. Rebecca was born in Concord, NH on November 18, 1993, daughter of Mark and Tammy (Johnson) Tenney. Rebecca had resided in Londonderry for the past 13 years, formerly living in Gilmanton Ironworks, NH. Rebecca was currently a Junior at Londonderry High School Class of 2012 where she had been involved with the Spring Track, the alpine ski team, drama club and the band. She was also very active with the Londonderry Girl Scouts and the Londonderry United Methodist Church. At the church she spent time with the Clown and Mime Ministry, Celebration Chimers, Vacation Bible School, the Youth Group and served as a Bible Zone youth leader. Rebecca was passionate about drawing and enjoyed playing the piano and saxophone.
She is survived by her parents, Mark and Tammy Tenney of Londonderry, her sister, Kassandra Tenney of Londonderry, her maternal grandparents, Robert and June Johnson of Lake Placid, FL, many aunts, uncles, cousins and also by her longtime boyfriend, Tyler Student of Londonderry.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday September 15, 2010 from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 11:00am in the Londonderry United Methodist Church, Mammoth Rd., Londonderry with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rebecca’s memory may be made to Londonderry United Methodist Church Youth Ministry, 258 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053 or to Londonderry High School, Scholarship Fund, 295 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053.
