Muriel Wheatley, 82, of Plain Road, West Greenwich, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of George H. Wheatley, Sr.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Effie (Petersen) Dame. She had been a resident of West Greenwich for almost 60 years.
She was a Supervisor of Guest Services at the W. Alton Jones Campus for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member Order of the Eastern Star, Greene, Sunshine Society of East Greenwich and Hianloland Ladies Auxillary.
Besides her husband she is survived by her children: George H. Wheatley, Jr., and his wife, Angela Erwin, Joseph Wheatley and his wife, Rita, Elizabeth White, and Susan Osbrey and her husband Raymond, all of West Greenwich and Karen Kennedy and her late husband Stanley, of Enterprise, AL, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a great great grandson, her siblings James A. Dame, Jr., and his wife, Marcia of Johnston, Barbara Griffiths and her husband Leroy of Hillsboro, NH, Carol Dyer and her husband Herbert of Exeter, Don Dame and his wife Catherine of Whiting, VT.
Memorial Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 11am in the Anderson Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
