Charles E. Johnston Jr.
....retired Commonwealth of MA, Civil Engineer, age 62
LOWELL- Charles E. Johnston Jr., 62, a resident of Lowell, died peacefully Saturday
Sept. 11, at Willow Manor nursing home. He was the former husband of Linda (Hicks)
Norton of Tewksbury.
He was born in Dorchester, October 5, 1947, son of the late Charles E. and
Gladys (Irish) Johnston. He was raised in Medford and graduated Medford High. He is
a Vietnam Veteran, for the United Stated Air Force was stationed at Cam Rahn Bay and Phu Cat.
In 2008 he retired after 35 years as a Civil Engineer from the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts. Charles was known as a regular customer at the Glenview Restaurant
and a member of the Lowell Fly Fishermen's Club.
Besides his former wife he is survived by a daughter Kristen A. Johnston of
Lowell. Son Keith R. Johnston of Tewksbury. Sister Barbara Pinkham of Woburn.
Several nieces and nephews including Sharon Deinhart of Minnesota, Joseph Silva of
Manchester, NH, Scott Silva of California, Doreen Pinkham of Woburn, Robert
Pinkham of Weare, NH. A great niece Lindsay Pinkham. Brother of the late Jeanne
Rebello.
A Memorial Service was held in the funeral home on
Thursday, September 16th. Memorial donations to American Cancer Society
Centralized Memorial Processing Center 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701, will be appreciated.
