Methuen, MA - John Frankauski, 94, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital surrounded by those he loved most.
John was born in Methuen on June 18, 1916. During World War II, he was employed by General Electric as a Machinist. Subsequently, John worked at Davis and Furber and later at Raytheon from which he retired.
John loved the outdoors, especially planting and gardening, and took pride in keeping his lawn` green. He was a lover of chocolate and enjoyed walking and visiting the beach. His greatest joy in life was his family and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who meant the world to him. He was a great man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The widower of the late Genevieve (Kita) Frankauski, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage, John will be deeply missed and is survived by his two children, John J. Frankauski and his wife Linda of Newbury, NH, and Joyce A. Fowler and her husband Allen of Londonderry, NH, and his six grandchildren, Michael Frankauski and his wife Cathy of Ashland, NH, David Frankauski and his wife Tammy of Germantown, MD, Stan Fowler and his wife Candice of Greenfield, NH, Deborah Jore and her husband Dean of Dunbarton, NH, Heidi Frankauski of Derry, NH and Rebecca Zachas and her husband Lewis of Windham, NH. He is also survived by his 10 beloved great-grandchildren, Kristen, Hannah, Nicholas, Thomas, Abigail, Sarah, James, Victoria, Lauren, and Riley, as well as a very close friend and care taker, Lorraine Lebel, who meant so much to him and to his entire family.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, September 14th from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday at 11AM at the Funeral Home with Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
