Teresa M. (Jones) Arena of Stoneham, formerly of Pembroke Ontario, Canada passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 83 years of age.
Born in Canada, Teresa was the daughter of the late Margaret (Kelley) Jones and James Jones.
Teresa was an active member of the Rosary group, the Charismatic Prayer Community, and a former Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Ladies Sodality and CWL groups.
She was educated in the Catholic School system and later in Secretarial schooling.
Teresa was the executive secretary for the human resources department of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (A.E.C.L.) for twenty years before her marriage and relocation to her present home in Stoneham.
She also held various positions locally as manager and recruiter at the Stoneham office of T.A.D. placement services, office staff for Stoneham high school, insurance and medical doctor's secretarial positions.
Teresa was the beloved wife of Francis “Frank” Arena. Cherished mother of Jennifer M. Arena. Dear sister of the late Gertrude Everett, Allan, Emmanuel, Gregory and Hillary Jones. Her nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart are Cookie Macey, Colleen Borup, Liane Spendlow, Laurie Everett, Dianne Thorley, Arthur DiGiovanni, Janice Jones, Jeff and Barb Jones, Karen and Mike Mulak, Steve and Maryann Jones. She will be sadly missed by Ursula, Stephanie, Dolly, Carol. Teresa loved her family and friends.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Teresa's Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available.
