Princeola Smith Glenn, 71, of 842 Claiborne Street, died Monday, September 6, 2010, at Danville Regional Medical Center. Born November 29, 1938, in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Smith and Mozel Brown Smith. She was married to Zonnie Glenn who predeceased her.
Mrs. Glenn had worked at Dan River Mills prior to working at Bluefeld Catering Service in Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Glenn was baptized as a Jehovah Witness in 1954.
She is survived by a daughter, Sheila Jackson and her husband Isaac of Danville; two sons, Michael Glenn and his wife Denise and Phillip Glenn, all of Baltimore, MD; a sister, Faye Jean Jackson of Atlanta, GA and two brothers, Herman Smith and “Mack” Ulysses Smith both of Maryland. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Tyrone Moulden, Tyrell Moulden, Shelton Glenn, Iyanna Jackson, Deidre Jackson, Ebony Jackson, Allen Jackson, Russell Jackson, Marcia Thomas, Maria Glenn, Michael Glenn, Jr., Courtney Glenn, and Christina Glenn; and three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and other relatives. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Deirdre Gregory; sisters Irene Cosby and Katie Lane and a brother, Moses Smith.
A memorial service conducted by Minister Arthur Moore will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 300 Terry Avenue, Danville.
