Obituary

In Boston, September 7, 2010 Thomas J. Zaks, age 62 died in Brigham & Women’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Kathleen (Kane) Zaks of Raynham. Thomas was born in Boston to his mother Genevieve Zaks of Dorchester and his late father Edmund Zaks. Thomas attended Boston schools and graduated from the former Don Bosco High School. He later attended and graduated from Northeastern University in Boston. Thomas has lived in Raynham for the past 34 years where he raised his family. He was employed as an electrical engineer for Nstar and the former Boston EDison for the past 40 years, local union #369. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Gaurd. Thomas was a member of the Knights of Columbus, former scout master and a CCD teacher. He enjoyed music, traveling, especially to Hawaii and loved spending time with his family. Thomas is survived by his son Thomas E. Zaks of Raynham and daughter Jessica A. Zaks of Dublin, Ireland. His sister Anne Alcott of Pembroke and his late siblings Robert Zaks and Elaine Zaks. His sister-in-laws Deborah Zaks, Ann Peters and her husband Bernd and Mary Hart and her husband Richard. His nieces and nephews; Christopher Zaks, Kim Zaks, Jeffrey Zaks and Niina Wirgentias, Dan Alcott, Courtney Alcott, Julie Zaks, Ed Jordan and his wife Dierdre, Nancy Jordan, Pamela Feffer and her husband Scott, Kristen Chalifour, Ricky Hart and his wife Jaime, Tyler Hart, Rachel Adams and her husband Rob, Maureen Maguire and her husband John, Mary Drouin and her husband Jeff, Karin Mosca and her husband Joe, Nora Peters and Paul Peters. Thomas also leaves his lifelong friend Al Chizauskas. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. Taunton, MA. 02780 on Saturday, Sept. 11th at 7:45 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 9 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday from 4-7 pm. Interment will be in New Calvery Cemetery in Mattapan.
