Obituary

Worcester - Sofika S. (Dine) Vasil, of 46 King St. died Saturday Jan. 26 in the UMASS Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus after an illness.

Her husband Sotir Vasil died in 1983. She leaves one son William S. Wassel of Walpole, MA; two daughters Dorothy V. Mitchell of Holden and Jeanette M. Davis - Greene of Shrewsbury; four sisters Georgia Getska of Jamestown, NY, Pandhora Pema of Korce, Albania, Eleni Pero of Worcester and Marika Deliani of Korce, Albania; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Mrs. Vasil was born in Korce Albania daughter of Ilo and Klanthi (Shqahu) Dine.

Mrs. Vasil worked as a stitcher for Worcester Woven Label Company for 15 years retiring in 1976.

She was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church and the Daughters of St. Mary's at the church. She also volunteered for 10 years at the Worcester Senior Club.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday Jan. 30 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a service at 11 AM in St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church 535 Salisbury St.. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday Jan. 29 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church 535 Salisbury St. Worcester, MA 01609.
