Obituary

James F. Kelley, 83, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, September 6. He was the husband of the late Elise (LeBrun) Kelley. Born in Newton, he was educated in St. Mary’s School in Stoughton and Franklin Institute in Boston. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1931. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Kelley was the co-owner of Kelley Bros. Construction in Stoughton for 50 years before retiring at age 65. He was a member of the VFW Post 1645 and the Amvets Post 1977 both in Stoughton. In his free time he enjoyed puzzle books and watching TV, especially the Red Sox.
Mr. Kelley is survived by his brother, Kenneth W. Kelley and his wife Geraldine of Stoughton. He is also survived by 5 stepsons, 2 nieces and a nephew.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, September 9 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in James’ name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
