PHELPS, James Arthur, 83, of Louisville, passed away Monday, September 06, 2010.
He was a retiree of P. Lorillard Tobacco Company and a member of the Valley Masonic Lodge #511.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Layman Phelps.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Phelps; his children, Rita Phelps Drake and Anthony Joe Phelps (Shelia); his wife's children, David Hardin (Shirley), Mary Pat Martin, Bibianna Ostrand, JoAnn Frank (John), Gary Hardin (Patty), Cathy Sullivan and Bennie Whitlock (Greg); and their 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Margie, Lorene and Mae.
His service will be 1pm Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-8pm and after 10am until the service at the funeral home.
