Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Madaline M. (Cleary) Flynn, age 94, a resident of Tewksbury for over 50 years, most recently of the Saunders Circle Housing Community, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2010, at the Lowell General Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of Chester H. Flynn Sr., who passed away in 1978.
Born in West Bridgewater on July 6, 1916, she was the daughter of the late William P. Cleary and the late Gertrude (Kelly) Cleary.
Mrs. Flynn was raised in Somerville, attended Somerville schools and graduated from Somerville High School in 1934.
Madaline resided in Somerville until moving to Tewksbury in 1959.
Prior to her retirement in 1984, Mrs. Flynn was employed by the Marshalls and J.M. Fields Clothing Stores as a Department Manager.
Mrs. Flynn was a communicant of St. Williams Church of Tewksbury.
She is survived by two sons, William D. "Billy" Flynn and his wife Patricia and Chester H. "Chet" Flynn, Jr. and his wife Paula of Townsend; one daughter, Judith C. "Judy" Hanson and her husband Jim of Pelham, NH; thirteen grandchildren, Darlene Allen, Christopher Allen , Rachel O'Donoughue, Kellie Farrell, Patricia Treska, William Flynn, Jr., Erin Flynn, Kerry Farnham, Colleen Flynn, Patrick Flynn, Katrina Grenier, Kristin Menard and Brian Hanson; fifteen great grandchildren, Maureen Menard, Devin and Brayden Menard, Brooke and David Treska, Nicholas, Madaline and Olivia Grenier, Logan Hanson, Ava and Julia Farrell, Vanessa Ryan, Gianna Flynn, Aidan and Maeve O'Donoughue; her sister-in-law, Virginia Cleary of Lexington; her best friend, Connie Ward of Stoneham; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Flynn was the mother of the late Maureen (Flynn) Allen, formerly of Pelham, NH, sister of the late William J. Cleary, formerly of Woburn and grandmother of the late Daniel J. Flynn, formerly of Tewksbury.
Calling hours Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Thursday, Sept. 9, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Autism Society of America, 4340 East-West Highway, Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814.
