Obituary

Joseph J. Tarlowski passed away on September 3, 2010 at the Wilmington Health Care Center. He was 92 years old.

Born in Chelsea, Joseph was a life long resident of Somerville prior to moving to Wilmington. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked as a machinist for HP Hood in Charlestown from 1946 until retiring in 1983.

Joseph was married to the late Audrey G. (MacArthur) Tarlowski, his wife of 41 years. He was the devoted father of Joseph M. Tarlowski and his wife Riccarda “Ricci” Tarlowski of Tewksbury, formerly of Somerville, and the late Edward Tarlowski and the father-in-law of Alice Tarlowski of Saugus. Joseph is predeceased by his brother Edward Tarlowski, his sisters Mary Cobb, Helen Jaynes, Jean Clark, Francis Tarlowski and Marcella Pierce and his brother-in-law Elmer and Dorothy Donahue. He was the cherished grandfather of Nicole of Somerville, Edward and his wife Kathleen of Everett, Kevin, Mark and Michael of Saugus and the great-grandfather of Trevor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, September 8th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Benedicts Church, 21 Hathorne Street, Somerville at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday, September 7th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
