Funeral services for Margaret “Peggy” Hanbury Johnston, 87, will be held Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Ashburn First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mrs. Johnston died Friday at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton following a brief illness.
Mrs. Johnston was born in Inverness, Florida and was the daughter of the late Jerry Cub and Laura Ann Parrish Hanbury. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ashburn and an active member of the UMW and children’s activities. She was a long time resident of Ashburn and enjoyed playing Bridge, golf, and being with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura J. Pearce in 2002.
Mrs. Johnston is survived by her husband, Calvin F. Johnston, Sr. Ashburn; two sons and daughters in law, Jerry and Sharon Mills, Morriston, FL. and Calvin F. “Vin” and Candace Johnston, Jr., Albany, Ga. Also surviving are six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn, Ga.
