Obituary

Joseph “Desi” Nalbandian, a life-long Medford resident and businessman died Wednesday at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center. He was 84.

Born in Medford, he was the son of the late Setrak and the late Cora (Aznavoorian) Nalbandian. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was the proprietor of Mystic Avenue Motors, here in Medford for most of his life. A member of the Italian American War Veterans Post of Medford, Massachusetts 100 Club and the Medford Rotary Desi was a dear friend to many.

Predeceased by his parents and sister Bertha Ezell, he leaves his brother-in-law John Ezell of Medford, his nieces, Sheryle Burditt of Winchester and Sharon Turco of Medford. He also leaves his aunt Grace Aznavoorian of Medford and many cousins great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday September 7 at 11 AM with the Rev’d Vasken Kouzouian presiding. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Tuesday morning from 9 until 11. Burial will follow with military honors at Oak Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Charity of One's Choice.
