Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, S. Easton at 9am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 11am. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-7pm.

Raymond J. Murphy of Brockton, died November 26 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mildred A. (Williams) Murphy for 56 years.Born in Taunton, son of thelate William and Alice (Lynch) Murphy. He lived in Brockton most of his life, he attended Taunton and Brockton school and was a graduate of Brockton High School. He had also attended the Industrial Technical School in Boston, Northeastern University in Boston, Harvard University in Cambridge and Rutgers University in New Jersey. Mr. Murphy served in the United States Army during World War II. He served as a medic in England for most of the war, in the 318th Station Hospital. Mr. Murphy had worked at the VA Hospital in Brockton as counselor for 35 years and also worked at Boston Navy Yard and General Electric. He was a member of the (NAPRE) National Association of Retired Federal Employees and he also an active member of the Brockton Country Club for many years.
He is survived by his wife Mildred A. (Williams) Murphy, a sister, Barbara H. Marrese of S. Easton, two nephews, Ted R. Marrese of Brockton and Dr. James W. Murphy of Ohio.and a niece, Donna Jeffrey of Berkley.
