Obituary

Lillian R. (DeLucia) Abbott 98, a lifelong Franklin resident, died Tuesday August 31, 2010 at Milford Care & Rehabilitation Center, following a long period of declining health. She was the wife of the late George J. Abbott, who died in 1976.
Born in Franklin, June 25, 1912 a daughter of the late Ralph and Amelia (Diodati) DeLucia, she was raised and educated in Franklin. Mrs. Abbott was a retired hairdresser and worked many years at the Wrentham State School, until her retirement.
She was a member of Franklin Lodge #1414 Sons of Italy, and was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary’s Church. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Women’s Club, and enjoyed travel and spending winters in Florida.
She is survived by her sister Eleanor M. Vipraio of Franklin, and many nieces and nephews including Patrice Samsel of Milford and Paul Vipraio of Franklin. She also leaves many additional generational nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Frank, Ralph and Albert DeLucia, and Frances DeBaggis, who died last year.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday Sept. 3rd, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin, at 10AM.
Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
