Mrs. Catherine P. (O’Neil) Treanor, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Dr. John F. Treanor, died at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester on Monday, August 30, 2010. She was 87 years old.
Born in Medford on March 10, 1923, she was the beloved daughter of the late Cornelius J. and Mary (Dunbar) O’Neil. Catherine worked as an Administration Assistant for the Boston Catholic Television Center. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Church in Medford. Above all, Catherine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be sorely missed by her children; Ann Scott of Weymouth, John and his wife Elizabeth Treanor of Kingstown, Rhode Island, Dr. Kathleen and her husband Stephen O’Loughlin of Bolingbrook, IL, Mark and his wife Janice Treanor of Niskayuna, New York, Christopher and his wife Gail Treanor of Medford, Mary and her husband Wesley Thistle of Chelmsford and Andrew and his wife Chrissy Treanor of Belmont, twenty one grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Catherine was also the loving mother-in-law of the late Robert Scott and sister of the late John O’Neil and Mary Powers.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Friday, September 3, 2010, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Thursday, September 2, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
