BEVERLY: Shuyu Yang, 68, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Jiaxin Ge who died in 1995.
Born in Shandong, China on April 10, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Xujiu Yang and Suzhen Qu. In her life, Shuyu worked hard to raise her family. She took several jobs to support her family, and quit them for family reasons. She was an excellent cook. “Grandma’s dumpling” made by her were highly praised by family and friends, which will be memorized along with her love and smiles.
Shuyu was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by Qingyuan Ge (son) and family who live in Beverly MA: Lixin Chen (daughter-in-law), Kevin Shiyao Ge and Andrew Shihuai Ge (grandsons); Hongyuan Ge (son), Ying Chen (daughter-in-law), Shiyang Ge (granddaughter), Qiyuan Ge (daughter), Jialei Liu (grandson), who live in Tianjin China.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 1st in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
