Obituary

Worcester - David M. Arnold,57, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, August 28, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. He leaves his wife of 12 years, Sharon A. (Leahy) Arnold; two brothers and three sisters, Marcie Arnold of Canton; his twin brother, Steven Arnold of Worcester; Jennifer (Arnold) Bartkus and her husband John of Vineyard Haven; Leslie (Arnold) Thompson and her husband Brian of Louisiana; and Andrew Arnold of Worcester; his brother-in-law, Rev. John Leahy, who will officiate at the service, and his wife June Leahy, both of Orlando; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

David was born in Worcester, son of Janet W. (Westerback) and Francis R. Arnold. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He then worked as a Worcester fire fighter for 17 years at the Southbridge Street Station, retiring because of a C.O.P.D. disability. Dave was a member of St. Michael's on-the-Heights Church and Mountain View Yacht Club at Lake Winnipesauke. He was an avid golfer and long-time member of Wachusett Country Club. David's family offers their sincere, heartfelt thanks for the help and support received by the staff of UMass Memorial Hospice.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 4-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Michael's on-the-Heights, 340 Burncoat Street, Thursday, Sept. 2, at 11:00 a.m.
