James H. "Pop" Wolfe, age 74, died on Friday, August 27, 2010 at his home in Southaven, MS. He was born in Oakland, MS on January 31, 1936 to the late Jessie M. and Ethel McAlister Wolfe. James was passionately active in his church, Christ the King Lutheran Church until his health declined. He owned and operated Reed’s Auto Safety in Memphis, TN which is now owned and operated by his son, Eddie Wolfe.
The visitation will be held Monday, August 30, 2010 from 10:00 AM until service time at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 Noon in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Pastor Chuck Neugebauer and Chaplain Richard Holt officiating. Interment will follow at Ford’s Well Cemetery in Yalobusha County.
James is survived by his wife, Gracie Ferrell Wolfe of Southaven, MS; one son, James Edward “Eddie” (Teri) Wolfe of Olive Branch, MS; two sisters, Olera “Nan” (Wedell) Jones of Georgetown, TN and Mary Ann Fly of Water Valley, MS; one brother, Bobby W. (Ellen) Wolfe of Birmingham, AL and one grandson, James Trevor Wolfe.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond L. “Shot” Wolfe; three half-brothers, Ernest, Carl and Roy Wolfe; and two half-sisters, Arlene Gardiner and Ruby Mae Shaw.
