Mary J. Griffin, age 80, on Tuesday August 24, 2010. She is survived by her 2 sons, James “Jamo” Burke and his wife Susan of Milton and Edward P. Burke and his wife Elaine of Warrenton, VA, her 4 grandchildren; Susie Burke of Milton, Jim Burke of Auburndale, Mike Burke of Milton, Jeremy Burke of Fredericksburg, VA, and her 2 step-grandchildren; Jessica Tartell of Saigon, Vietnam, and Eliza Tartell of Lunenburg, MA. Mary was born in Boston, grew up in Mission Hill and lived in the Savin Hill section of Dorchester for many years before moving to the Weymouth Health Care Center in 2004 where she was an active member and past president of the Resident Council. Beyond her many years as an accomplished Sales Associate for Federated Department Stores, she was a seasoned world traveler and volunteer in her church and community. A Funeral Service will be held at the Holy Nativity Church, 8 Nevin Rd. S. Weymouth on Saturday August 28 at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the Holy Nativity Church, 8 Nevin Rd. S. Weymouth, MA 02190.
