John S. McKinnon, a lifelong Woburn resident, passed away suddenly, Sunday, November 23, at the Blaire House of Tewksbury. He was seventy-four.
He was the son of the late son Mae S. (Coleman) and Frank C. McKinnon. After serving in the US Army during World War II, John continued his education and went on to receive a Masters degree in oratory from Staley College in Boston. He enjoyed reading science and loved to walk, he retired from Cushman Bakery after many years of service.
He is survived by his former wife Pricilla (Flood) and five children, Craig of Kirkland, Washington, Rhoda Cavanagh of Tyngsboro, Frank of Medford, Matthew of Tewksbury and Bradley of Woburn. Also four loving grandchildren. John also leaves his brother Donald L. McKinnon of Raynham. He was predeceased by his late son Karl and his brother Frank McKinnon.
His funeral will be from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home , 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Tuesday, December 2, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Monday, December 1, from 6 thru 8.
