Robert C. Underwood, 85, of Lyndeboro died August 24, 2010 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester on July 19, 1925 to Ray and Marion (Curtis) Underwood. He lived in Manchester most of his life and Lyndeboro for 12 years.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Underwood was a trooper with the New Hampshire State Police for several years, then worked as a claims adjustor with Kemper Insurance Company for 40 years.
He coached Pop Warner football and refereed high school football games for many years. He was a member of the American Legion.
The family includes his wife of 63 years, Genevieve (Fifty) Underwood of Lyndeboro; three children, Sherilyn Paquette of Dunbarton, Holly Hanson of Lyndeboro and Robert C. Underwood Jr.; grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Ray Underwood of Goffstown; a sister, Shirley Wolf of Naples, FL; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Saturday, August 28, 2010 in the funeral home. Committal prayers followed at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
