Obituary

Aileen Alberta (Holden) Williams, 88, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly in Milton, MA on August 19, 2010.

Born in New Bedford on March 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Louise (Harper) Holden, wife of the late Roy S. Williams, and lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

Throughout her life, she pursued artistic endeavors in photography and textile crafts, and enjoyed movies, reading, and collecting cultural memorabilia.

Survivors include her daughters Jacquelyn Hallsmith of New Bedford, Karlai and husband Philip Brooks of Boston, Aileen, Jr. and husband Raul Duenez of Chatsworth, CA; her sons Karl Holden Hall and Edward Williams of New Bedford; six grandchildren, Banjineh, Khalid, Haate, Christian, Maija and Michael; god-daughter Francine Pina Council of Springfield, MA; first cousins Edna Van Dunk and Thomas Moore of New Jersey, Barbara Moore of Las Vegas, and Gerald Harper of New York; her dear friends Eloise and Antone Pina, Rev. Mildred Solomon, Marion Henderson, Lucille Goodine, Cleone Mendes, Juliana Conward, Gwendolyn Todman, Florence Christian, Alice and Reginald Dossett, Elizabeth Banks and Dorothy Dabney.
Her Memorial Service will he held on Monday, August 30th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Her family will receive guests on Monday morning from 10 - 11 AM prior to her service. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
