Barbara Ann (Brown) Allen passed away on August 22nd at home surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late William and Edna Brown. She was born on May 2, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY.
She will be sadly missed by her three loving daughters, Jessica Brown and her husband Daniel Brown of Westbrook, CT; Jennifer Schiappa and her husband Michael Schiappa of Grafton, MA; and Kristin Allen of Mystic; her sisters Diane Besemer of Wantagh, NY and her husband Charlie, Maureen Schneider of Willow Springs, NC and her husband Emil, and Geraldine Olson of Budd Lake, NJ and her husband Brent. She is also survived by her two loving grandsons, Ryan and Jonathan Schiappa, whom they called “Nana”, and several nieces and nephews. She was a dear and loving friend to all who knew her.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Wednesday from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, Groton Long Point Rd, Groton on Thursday at 11am. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
