TAUNTON – James Costa, husband of Bettina H. (Mason) Costa, died at Life Care Center of Raynham on Aug. 21, 2010.
He was 83.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Jesse and Mary (Madeira) Costa.
Educated in Raynham and Taunton schools, Mr. Costa was later employed by General Dynamics, where he worked as a pipe fitter for over twenty years.
He subsequently worked as a maintenance man for Stonehill College, retiring in 2008.
A communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church, Mr. Costa was an antiques enthusiast and enjoyed attending antiques shows and flea markets and collecting.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves a son, James M. Costa and his wife Pamela of Taunton; a daughter, Carol Hickey and her husband George of Taunton; two grandchildren, Molly A. Costa and Katlyn Hickey, both of Taunton; a brother, George Costa and his wife Elsie of Raynham; a sister, Evelyn Witherall of CT; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Jesse, Joseph, Anthony, William, Manuel, Arthur, John, Alice and Hilda Costa, and the late Mary D’Augustino.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Wednesday, Aug. 25th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 24th from 5 to 7 p.m.
