Obituary

Thomas P. Flynn, 75, died Friday, August 20, 2010 in Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Barbara A. (Faulkner) Flynn, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.

Born in Danvers on May 12, 1935, he was the son of the late William and Honora Flynn. He was raised and educated in Danversport and was a graduate of Saint John’s Preparatory School, Class of 1953. He went on to graduate from Merrimack College, where he was class president of the Class of 1957.

Mr. Flynn taught in the business department at Peabody High School for nearly forty years until the time of his retirement. He also worked for many years at the Far Corner Golf Course in Boxford.

A former longtime Danvers Town Meeting member and Finance Committee member, he was a communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Cynthia Arsenault and her husband Robert of Danvers, Kathleen Hunt and her husband Kevin of Gloucester, Thomas Flynn Jr. of Danvers, and Brian Flynn and his wife Kathleen of Danvers, his sister, Sheila Mouton-Kelly and her husband Kevin of Danvers, his brother, William Flynn and his wife Janice of Danvers, 9 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 9AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Donations in Mr. Flynn’s memory may be made to the St. Mary of the Annunciation Church Sanctuary Fund, 24 Conant St., Danvers, MA 01923.
