Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Armand V. Auger, age 96, a resident of Tewksbury for the past 4 years, formerly of Everett, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at home with his family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Marie-Jeanne (Petrilli) Auger, with whom he celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 22, 2010.
Born in Millbury on April 19, 1914. he was the son of the late Louis Auger and the late Marianne (Lavallee) Auger.
Mr. Auger was raised in Worcester, attended Worcester schools and graduated from Worcester High School. Following graduation, he attended Assumption College.
During his early years, Mr. Auger worked at the Boston Naval Shipyard.
In 1944, Mr. Auger founded the Auger Heating Company of Malden and Everett, which he operated for over 40 years. In the early 1980's, he founded the Auger Realty Company of Revere.
According to his family, he was an "extremely hard worker, a loving husband and devoted to his family".
He enjoyed many activities especially square-dancing with his beloved wife.
In addition to his wife, Marie-Jeanne , he is survived by four sons, John P. Auger of Hollis, ME, Richard and his wife Laurie of Boxford, Roger and his wife Linnie of Billerica, and Donald and his wife Debbie of Tewksbury; one daughter, Diane C. Kelley and her husband John of Tewksbury; two sisters, Pauline Savage and Therese Descoteau both of Worcester; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Auger was the father of the late Claire Devanna and brother of the late Leo, Bernadette and Connie Auger and Isabelle Morin.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, Aug. 23rd, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral is Tuesday, Aug 24th, at 10 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggetts Pond Rd., Andover. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to V.N.A. of Middlesex-East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Avenue, # 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
