Obituary

James Ingram, 86, of 156 Spring Avenue, died Friday, August 20, 2010 at his residence.

Born in Ferrum, Va on March 18, 1924, he was the son of the late Thomas M. Ingram and Cora Lee Carter Ingram. He was married to Frances Hall Ingram who survives him, of the residence.

He lived in North Carolina for 20 years before moving to Danville in 1976. He had worked For Dan River, Inc. for 39 years before retiring as a loom fixer in 4A weave. He was a veteran Of the US Army and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Glenwood where he served as A deacon and church treasure. He was a member of the VFW and the Ballard Pruitt Post 647 of The American Legion.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Ingram is survived by one son, Danny Ray Ingram and wife, Brenda, Of Richmond; two daughters, Sheila Ingram and Bonnie K. Wray, both of Danville; three brothers, Wayne Ingram and Moulton Ingram, both of Danville, and Ronald Ingram of Richmond. Also surviving Is two sisters, Geneva Hawker of Ringgold and Elizabeth Carter of Hampton; four grandchildren, And eight great-grandchildren

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers and seven sisters.

Funeral arrangements for Mr. Ingram are incomplete at this time. Swicegood Funeral Home is In charge of the arrangements and is serving the Ingram family. The family will be at the Residence, 156 Spring Avenue, off Westover Drive.
