HAVERHILL: Julie Z. (Zimmermann) Evancha, 53, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 in the Merrimack Valley Hospice House after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of David B. Evancha.
Born on September 12, 1956 in Winner, South Dakota, she was the daughter of Forrest and Georgia (Pickeral) Zimmermann. Julie was a resident of Haverhill for the past twenty-seven years, previously residing in Lakewood, California.
Before retiring in 2004, Julie was employed for twenty-one years at the Evergreen Group, now the Wells Fargo Bank in Boston, where she was the Vice President of Systems. She was active in the Haverhill High School Track Boosters Club and the former First Congregational Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her two daughters,
Betina Evancha, a senior at Princeton University and Nicole Evancha, a senior at Haverhill High School and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral services will be held on Sunday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill at 4 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2 – 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
