VICTOR - Martha “Mott” Cox Victor, 73, passed away Thursday evening, August 19, 2010, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Victor was born February 16, 1937 in Fernandina Beach and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the 1957 graduating class of Fernandina Beach High School. She authored a cookbook and was a fantastic cook. She was quick witted and enjoyed family, fishing and travelling. Mrs. Victor was predeceased by two sisters, Violet Peeples and Georgia Van Zant. Survivors include her husband of 13 years, Daniel T. Victor of Fernandina Beach; two sons, Harold Kenneth Sloan, Jr. of Tybee Island, GA and George Arnold Earnest Sloan (Carol) of Charleston, SC; a step daughter, Patricia Lefor (Randy) of Phoenix, AZ; two adopted daughters, Diane Clayton of Spartanburg, SC and Mary Beth Perzy of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, John Cox of Fernandina Beach, FL, William “Bill” Cox of Deland, FL and Francis Cox of Fernandina Beach, FL; two sisters, Tillie Crane of Houston, TX and Kathryn Saunders of Fernandina Beach, FL; several grand and great grandchildren; and Erica Nicole Lee, who was like a granddaughter to Mrs. Victor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday, August 24, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Layman Pastor, Wayne Saunders, officiating. Interment will follow in Bosque Bello Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Monday at Green Pine Funeral Home.
