Worcester - Shirley M. (Girard) Fay, 67, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010, suddenly in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley leaves her husband of 37 years, John W. Fay, a daughter Wendi Adams and husband Neil of Auburn, and a son John P. Fay of Auburn. She leaves her two granddaughters, Alexa Adams and Amanda Fay, the lights of her life. She also leaves her twin sister Beverly Camarra of Worcester and her sister Jeannette Perry of Shrewsbury; 2 nieces, Katie Perry and Bonnie Dufault; nephew Spencer Perry; and many sisters- and brothers-in-law.
Shirley was born in Worcester. She was raised in Shrewsbury and graduated from Shrewsbury High School. She worked at the Worcester Country Club for more than 20 years and was currently employed by Honey Dew Donuts. Shirley loved spending time with her family especially her grandaughters and also loved going to the beaches in Maine and Newport, RI.
Shirley was a kind and generous person inspiring others to follow her example. Her untimely passing leaves a void that will not easily be filled by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 20, 2010, in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Way of Central MA, Denholm Building, 484 Main St . Suite 300 Worcester, MA 01608-1880.
