Laconia, NH---------David L. Ames, 72, of 20 Trails End Lane, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, on Wednesday, August 11, 2010.
David was born February 26, 1938 in Watertown, Mass., the son of Harvey and Bessie (Wallace) Ames.
David lived in Chelmsford, Mass for many years before moving to Laconia in 1992. He had been employed at F.M. Global for many years before retiring in 2000.
David was an active member of the Gilford Community Church and was a member of the Senior Bowling League.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Carolyn (Walker) Ames, of Laconia; a son, Kenneth Ames, of Bedford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon & Christopher Carlson of Hamilton, Mass. and Cynthia and Kurt Milligan of Stoneham, Mass.; four grandchildren, Christopher, Emma, Gavin and Caitlin; a brother, Harvey Ames, of Wayland, Mass.; two sisters, Dorothy Secord of Sunapee, NH and Janet Cate of Waltham, Mass. and many nephews and nieces.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 9:00-11:00AM at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH.
A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 11:00AM also at the Church. Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.
