Rosemarie Vecchia, of Somerville formerly of Medford and Wakefield passed away August 13th following a lengthy illness, she was 65 years of age. Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of Mary (Gambino) Baglio of FL and the late Joseph Baglio.
Rosemarie was raised and educated in Medford where she spent the majority of her life and was a graduate of Medford High School with the class of 1963. Mostly devoted to her large and loving family, Rosemarie loved to spend time with her children and especially her grandchildren. In her leisure time Rosemarie enjoyed arts and crafts, mostly ceramics and painting. She also enjoyed the outdoors and liked to spend time at the beach.
In addition to her mother, Rosemarie is survived by her children, William P. Burke and his wife Carrie of Martha's Vineyard, Kevin M. Burke of MO, Stephen P. Burke and his partner Thomas Ottaviano of Holbrook, Jennifer L. McGlynn and her husband David of Medford, PO Daniel S. Burke USCG of Virginia, Amy L. Fleming and her husband Shawn of NH, GySgt. Michael A. Vecchia Jr. USMC of CA. She is also survived by 17 loving grandchildren and 1 loving great grandchild. She was the former wife of Michael A. Vecchia Sr. of Medford and is further survived by her sister, Carmella Vellucci-Paula of Medford and is preceded in death by her brothers, the late John and Joseph Baglio.
A memorial service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Thursday evening, August 19th, at 7 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made in Rosemarie's memory to the Visiting Nurse Foundation, 405 Alewife Brook Pkwy.
