Thomas A. Walmsley, age 84, of Swansea, passed away August 15, 2010. He was the husband of the late Cecilia (Motta) Walmsley and the son of the late Joseph & Pamela Rose Walmsley.
He is survived by his 4 children: Thomas A. Walmsley Jr. & his wife Cynthia of Assonet, Sharron L. Souza & her husband Robert of Swansea, Donna C. DaCosta & her husband Manuel of Somerset, and Kevin J. Walmsley & his wife Jane of Swansea. 9 grandchildren: Shayne, Lori, Jason, Jared, Judd, Mandee, Marc, Becki, & Kati. 10 great grandchildren. 2 nieces: Noreen Jardin, Eileen Carroll, and several other nieces & nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Seth DaCosta and twins Justin & Jeremy Souza, and the brother of the late Joseph Walmsley, Rose & Lillian Levesque, Bertha Boucher.
Prior to retiring, Tom worked as a Steam Fireman for the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant. He had previously worked as a painter for Clemey Tank Corp. in Mansfield, MA and was a WW II Navy Veteran. He will always be remembered as our family loving, fun loving, kind and giving “Uncle Tommy”, “Tom”, “Gramps”, “Dad”, and “The Boss”.
His funeral service will take place in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday Morning from 8:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.
