John Lee Ingram, 86, of 351 Juless Street, died August 14, 2010.
Born in Franklin County, Virginia on September 17, 1923, he was the son of Callie Emma Stone Ingram and William Luther Ingram.
He lived most of his life in Danville where he was a carpenter. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was married to Nannie Lee Smith Ingram, who predeceased him December 27, 1979.
He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Brenda Anne Watlington and David Ray Watlington of Danville and Betty Lee Denson and Anthony Edwin Denson of Hampton, VA; two sisters, Mary Marie McCain of Danville, and Betty Jane Allred of South Boston, VA; one brother, David William Ingram of South Boston, VA; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a special friend, Mary Pruitt.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Clara Emma Sandridge and Nannie Bell Ingram and two brothers, James Junior Ingram and Wilford Ingram.
The funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Hammock and Rev. John Crews officiating. Interment will be at Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday, August 16, at Swicegood Funeral Home and at other times at 351 Juless Street.
