Obituary

TEWKSBURY: William P. D'Amico, age 61, a resident of Tewksbury for over 40 years, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at home.
Born in Winchester on March 25, 1949, he was the beloved son of Bertha M. (Estabrook) D'Amico, who survives him, of Tewksbury and the late Salvatore D'Amico.
William was raised in Wakefield until moving to Tewksbury in 1959. He attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School. Following graduation, he attended Merrimack College in North Andover.
Mr. D'Amico served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his honorable discharge from active duty, he was awarded that National Defense Service Medal and the M-16 Sharpshooter Badge.
William was employed as a project manager for several computer companies including the Hewlett-Packard Company and the Digital Computer Company.
He enjoyed many outdoor activities including riding his bicycle, exercising, riding horses and playing polo in Swampscott. In addition, he was an avid tennis player.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Shane P. Chateauneuf and his wife Meredith of Lowell and Jared D'Amico; three grandchildren, Shane A. and McKayla A. Chateauneuf both of Lowell and Alivia Marshburn of Houston, TX; one brother, Robert C. D'Amico of Ossipee, NH; two nephews, Robert and Jeffrey; also many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours Sunday, Aug. 15, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will take place on Monday, Aug. 16, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by a Graveside service at 10 a.m., at Tewksbury Cemetery.
