WEBSTER – Shirley A. (Allard) Arel, 74, formerly of 96 Slater Street, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010, in Webster Manor.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Stanley H. “Pee Wee” Arel; 2 sons, Mark H. Arel and his wife Angela of Swanton, VT, and Stanley T. Arel, Jr. and his wife Tricia of DeLand, FL; a daughter, Marie A. Betty and her husband Richard of St. Albans, VT; a brother, Harvey A. “Junior” Allard, Jr., and his wife Sylvia of Thompson, CT; 4 sisters, Anita R. Socha and her husband Frank, Constance O. Chenard, Lucille E. Pikora, and Letha A. Cacciapouti, all of Dudley; 9 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Harold F. “Harry” Allard.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Harvey Allard, Sr. and Anna (Breault) Allard, and lived here most of her life.
Mrs. Arel was a homemaker. She was a believer in Christ.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 17, at 10:30AM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, August 16, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to Lamblight Christian Church, 166 Worcester Road, Charlton, MA 0l507.
