Robert J. Nestor, age 73, of Westport, passed away after a short illness, August 9, 2010 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Claudette (Caron) Nestor. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Joseph and Rita (Roden) Nestor. Bob was a B.M.C. Durfee High School graduate of 1954, a 1963 graduate of Bradford Durfee College of Technology and a member of its Phi Psi Fraternity, & a 1970 graduate of S.M.U. now U-Mass Dartmouth. Prior to retiring, Bob was a Senior Engineer for Talbot’s Corp. Previously; he was the Manager of International Operations for Princess House Inc. for many years. He was U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served in Okinawa, Japan. While in the Army, he also worked for the National Security Agency. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Jean A. Prevost Council 12380 of Fall River. He also served as Treasurer for the U-Mass Dartmouth Alumni Board of Directors, and was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his 2 children: Timothy P. Nestor & his wife Melissa of Fall River and Pamela A. Sears Jr. & her husband Gerald A. of Somerset. 2 grandsons: Ryan J. & Tyler P. Nestor. A sister: Kathleen Levesque of Tiverton, RI. Several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Patricia Delaney.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. SATURDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Notre Dame Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours FRIDAY 5-8 P.M.
