Mildred C. Vaughan, 86, Clarksville, died Monday, August 9, 2010, at Clarksville Nursing and Rehab Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Dr. John Laida officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday and from noon until the hour of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born December 13, 1923 in Clarksville, TN, daughter of the late Schyler Chandler and Annie Pyland Chandler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. Vaughan and daughter, Brenda Jean Vaughan. Mrs. Vaughan was a retired bookkeeper of the Clarksville Credit Bureau. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Dennis Vaughan, Clarksville; Jack Vaughan (Pam), Omaha, Nebraska; and David Vaughan, Nashville, TN; two daughters, Marilyn Chilcutt (Tim), Clarksville; and Joan Dickinson, Trenton, KY; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
