
Edna M. (Davis) Payne, 87 of Franklin died August 6 in her home following a long illness. She was the wife of Frank J. Payne Jr.
Born in Boston, July 21, 1923, the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Hines) Davis, Mrs. Payne had lived in Dedham for several years prior to coming to Franklin 51 years ago.
A homemaker for most of her life, Edna had worked at the Gillette Company in South Boston during the 1940’s.
Edna loved to do crafts especially quilting and painting with oils.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Cheryl Morrell of Holland, Vermont, Susan Delfino of Attleboro, Gayle Oaks of Attleboro, Frank J. Payne III of Uxbridge, Jeffrey Payne of Franklin and Lori Eaton of Lincolnville, Maine.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be private with burial in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin.
